No matter what you’ve done, God’s love is a mighty one and is strong enough to handle itMel IN “A mighty LOVE”
“A Mighty Love” by Anita Doreen Diggs is a great story about going through trials and tribulations in marriage. Melvin and Adrienne start out with the typical fairytale marriage at the beginning; beautiful family, loving home, and happy relationship, then an unforeseen tragedy happens and things start to make a turn for the worst putting extreme strain on their relationship. From dealing with grief to dealing with family and friends on the outside looking in, seems like the odds are against them. This book takes us on the emotional rollercoaster journey to recovery out of a tragic situation.
I enjoyed this story. Diggs was very realistic considering the circumstances present in the life of the characters. I could see how the turn of events came about and the fact that it could happen to any one of us. I don’t want to give any spoilers so I will say the story flowed very well and shows us the reality that marriage is not just unicorns, rainbows, and flowers. The story declares that marriage is about two individuals willing to make it work no matter situations arise.
I do have to say I did not like how the story ended. I tend to highly dislike endings that leave me in the wonder. You know, like, well did they get their life together? Did they live happily ever after? Divorce? What?
I did not find a sequel book to this story so I have to make my own assumptions on how everything eventually concluded.
I am giving this read 4/5 stars because even though I am perturbed about the ending it is undeniably a good realistic relatable story. I would recommend it for a quick read.
