Holiday decorations and music playing in all retail stores. Trees lined up everywhere decorated in lights and ornaments. Walmart greeter outside ringing the little bell thanking people for putting money in the donation bucket. Yes you guessed it, it’s that good ol’ holiday season. Now I dunno if its the decorations, the thought of gift giving, or the kids running around all jolly excited about Santa that puts me in the holiday romance mood but I am definitely in that head space at the moment.
During this holiday season I have decided if I’m not watching “This Christmas” with Chris Brown fine self in it then I will definitely be diving into one of these holiday romance releases to get me through what will be a somewhat lonely holiday season. Yes I said somewhat. We all have a friend we can call when we need to. Don’t judge me.
Well since I’ve already begun to get reading, I can definitely say the first book read on my holiday TBR is “A Very Merry Romance” by Brenda Jackson. I’ll be posting a review on this book but I will say it was the perfect book to start my holiday reading. This book is a part of a series but is also a stand alone. It is about how a couple first got together and fell in love before marriage and what they had to go through to get to where they are today.
Next I will be reading “Christmas at the Lakeside Resort” by Susan Schilds and “Mistletoe at Moonglow” by Deborah Garner. Both free books recommended by my daily bookbub emails I receive so I don’t know too much about them but can say the synopsis on both books peaked my interest so I decided to go ahead and give them a chance because a well read woman is a diverse read woman right?!?! Plus who is gonna turn down a free book? I mean really?!
I then plan to finish my holiday Tbr list with “A Steele for Christmas” by Brenda Jackson. I have decided to finish with the author I began with because I highly enjoyed “A Very Merry Romance” and my intuition is telling me that reading this book last will put the end satisfaction I need for my holiday romance sensation. Like a cherry on top of a sundae. I love this author’s writing style and look forward to reading more of her books.
I have a few mysteries on my TBR for this month as well since they are of course my favorite but I’m very open to reading other holiday books so if you have any suggestions please feel free to suggest any in the comments below. I’ll definitely check them out.
