In my previous post I went into detail about leaving the past behind. That is what I believe is the first important key to having the ability to claim success in 2021. If you haven’t had the chance to check it out feel free to check it out below.
Today I want to focus on the second key to claiming success in the new year. Keep in mind all the keys are equally important. I just put them in an order that flows well.
2ND KEY TO SUCCESS:
Cease Your Inheritance
Have you ever heard an unemployed individual talking about how they have been praying for a job but you never see them applying for a job or attending any job interviews? Or perhaps you have a friend who says they are tired of being single but yet they never attend any social events or do anything that would give them the opportunity to put themselves out there? Or maybe you can even relate by being the person to pray and hope for something thinking whatever it is will just magically appear and knock on your door and say, “Here I am, just what you have requested!”
The key of ceasing your inheritance is so vital because it calls attention to putting in work for what we are wanting to be achieved. We must take action in getting what we know God has promised us; It’s not just in our hands. God has it already waiting on us. We just have to have the strength and courage to take possession of it. In the words of one of my favorite ministers Jerry Flowers, Let me give you bible.
In the first chapter of Joshua after Moses passed away, God speaks to Joshua and describes to him what land he has allotted to be distributed among the tribes of Israel. At that time however, there were other tribes of people occupying the land promised to them so God let Joshua know that through obedience and faith in Him, he would be able to defeat all the other tribes and repossess that which belonged to the Israelites.
Haven’t I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you goJOSHUA 1:9
There are also plenty of Proverbs in the Bible that teach us the importance of taking action steps. Proverbs 20:4 tells us that if we are too lazy to plow don’t expect a harvest. Proverbs 12:24 says that the diligent hand will rule, but laziness will lead to forced labor. Proverbs 19:15 reminds us that lazy people sleep soundly, but idleness leaves them hungry. So you see, words without actions can be counted as useless.
The way you know whether you prayed in faith is by what you do after taking a matter to God.DR. TONY EVANS
Of course prayer is important. I never want to devalue the effects of prayer. That is the essential source of communication with Elohim our God. I just believe that when it comes to going after what we want to achieve in life or going after what we feel is promised to us from God, prayer should be the introduction to action. It is telling God that we trust Him to work through us or work through whatever circumstances we get involved in as we maneuver through life trying to cease what is already waiting for us.
Oh, Lord, my God, you are bringing us home to a land you have prepared for us. You have laid out this gift before us. Give us the courage to take itUNASHAMED:RAHAB (LINEAGE OF GRACE)
Next week I will be finishing off this success series with the last two keys to success; Focus on God and not people and staying tethered to God’s Word. If this has touched you in any way please let me know your thoughts in the comments.
